Miley's Star Wrist Tattoo

Miley's Star Wrist Tattoo

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Today was a bit slow, but that’s OK because my neighbor and jeweler Carlos, his granddaughter Miley and good friend Steve kept me company. It was a cold morning and the afternoon eventually turned into a warm promising day. However, I did have to pack up a little early to attend my father-in-law’s 63rd birthday dinner and celebration. Congratulations Roberto!

Roberto is a custom jewelry designer and is the owner of R. Macias Jewelers in Fremont, CA. So if you are looking for a custom jewelry piece or jewelry repair, please take a moment and view his website.

Just a reminder to turn your clocks back one hour tonight. Yep it’s that time of year to fall back. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep. See you tomorrow.

Short, Sweet and to the Point

Brandon's Wolf Tattoo

Brandon's Wolf Tattoo

We had quite a run today and were very busy. Our youngest customer today was just about 2 years and our most senior was 70 years old. It just goes to show that people of all ages love airbrush tattoos. Since I wrote quite a bit in yesterdays post, I am going to even things out by keeping it short and sweet today and simply say thank you. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our busy booth and to those who were patient and waited their turn in line. Don’t forget to recommend our services to your friends, family, and co-workers. You can even leave feedback right here on this website by clicking the “Leave a Comment” link above. Enjoy your tattoos!

We also cordially invite you to visit us next weekend at the San Jose Flea Market. It just so happens that Halloween is this coming Saturday. Actually Halloween hasn’t occurred on a Saturday since 2003. That coupled with daylight savings “fall back” time change and we’ll get one extra bewitching hour to party or at least get some extra sleep. I am looking forward to the latter.

Back For Seconds? No Problem

Rosie the Riveter Tattoo

Rosie the Riveter Tattoo

The first customers of the day were a couple of girls who wanted matching tattoos. Matching friends tattoos was also a theme last Sunday. They were down from Salem, Oregon some 680 miles away from home. They were actually on their way to Southern California to visit all the amusement parks over the next week. Yep, like Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, and Disneyland. That sounds like a pretty awesome vacation if you ask me. Although they already had some pretty cool permanent tattoos, they wanted some “weird friends” tattoos or is that “weird” tattoos. Just kidding, they actually selected the Chinese symbol for “weird”. Enjoy your whirlwind trip to the major theme parks ladies, especially Universal Studios on Halloween night.

Our next memorable customer was a kid by the name of Cristian who was here with his mom. He’s had many temporary tattoos before and knew exactly what he wanted. He selected a nautical star on his calf in Halloween colors, black and orange. It was very cool and he really liked it a lot. Now I am thinking of getting one in those colors. Then they walked around to do some more shopping and returned again a little while latter. I guess he was bit by the tattoo bug. This time he picked a swirly fiery sun design for his upper shoulder. He wanted it tucked away cause he goes to Catholic grade school. He hopes he doesn’t get in trouble, but doesn’t’ think so cause his own school principal has a real tattoo. Funny.

Then Jenny stopped by to find something small and cute for her daughter Shelby . Either a small flower or butterfly tattoo. Shelby, who is just 3 1/2 years old, pointed out the cute butterfly. Jenny is a vendor at The Flea who sells these pretty trendy t-shirts designed by tattoo artists among other things. While I was giving Shelby a cute pink and purple butterfly temporary tattoo with purple glitter, I enjoyed talking to Jenny about similar Flea Market business experiences. Thank you again for stopping by and don’t forget to find Shelby’s picture in our photo gallery.

I would also like to say hello to Fedra, also neighboring vendor who stopped by looking for a something a little unique. She was drawn to a tattoo design from our vintage banner of a woman in the red bandana, flexing her bicep in her blue factory uniform. It is a replica of the image depicted in the World War II poster featuring Rosie the Riveter. It was a little bit of a challenge, but the extra effort paid off as you can see by the photo inset. She was very happy with the results and enjoyed showing it off to all her friends. Thanks again Fedra!

Usually Sunday’s are much busier and I look forward to meeting even more people and making their day memorable. It’s going to be a beautiful day.

Matching Tattoos For Best Friends

2009 October 18
Close Friends Unite

Close Friends Unite

Tattoos really do bring people together, whether or not they are real. In fact I am asked that same question quite often, “Is that tattoo real?”. It’s quite flattering, but I don’t mind at all. Now friends love tattoos. In fact they love them so much that they often want to get matching tattoos. Today was no exception, except for the fact that it happened three times.

I would like to also say hello to Haviette and her dad. Her dad knew exactly what she should get. See, they were both toting some new luggage they just picked up. They were about to embark on a trip to American Samoa to visit family that were displaced by the recent Tsunami. Since they were on their way to the islands, a turtle anklet seemed to be the right choice. The temporary tattoo turned out great and she was quite happy with the result. Check out Haviette’s tattoo photo and others by visiting the photo gallery.

We will be located at The Flea in the same area next weekend. Remember, you can always find out where we will be making appearances by visiting our events page. See you then.
